The Government of San Martin commits to enact a protocol that will establish the legal framework to grant rights for agroforestry systems over areas where coffee plantations have been established. The signature of these contracts is an important process towards achieving sustainability in the coffee value chain in the region, including, among other issues, making coffee producers commit to respect and maintain forests in the areas granted.

The goal is to have a Regional Ordinance approved and implemented. Currently the different offices and directions of the GORESAM are discussing and support the importance and impact of this policy.
