Center for Coffee Research & Education

The Center for Coffee Research and Education was established by the Board of Regents of Texas A&M University in September 2016. Since then, it has been striving to enhance the growth of the coffee industry through research and capacity building. It also sponsors university classes and sends undergraduate to doctorate students abroad to conduct studies about the coffee industry.

Statement of support

The Center for Coffee Research and Education aims to strengthen the network of dedicated coffee professionals by engaging and educating the next generation of coffee scientists, producers and industry experts. By leveraging the many resources and vast experience in education and development at Texas A&M University and engaging with other research and development institutions around the world, the CCRE is able to offer unparalleled research and educational opportunities to students, including research and first hand experience with coffee at all levels. We believe that by supporting the next generation, we ensure a strong future for coffee around the world.

Our Commitments

The Coffee Research & Education Center aims its efforts to improving education, research and economic growth locally and internationally. We propose an "Educational and Research Challenge" based on the following four pillars (a) Develop the Coffee Science Lab, a state-of-the-art research and training facility to perform post-production research and training, (b) Facilitate the establishment of a student Coffee Club at Texas A&M University, and (c) Develop and lead study abroad opportunities for Texas A&M Students in coffee producing countries.
